Who We Are

This website is operated by Narayan Seva Sansthan. Our website address is: https://narayanseva.org.au/

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our website, we collect the information entered into the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent. This data helps us detect and prevent spam.

An anonymised hash of your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. You can view their privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if linked through Gravatar) will be visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media Uploads

If you upload images to our website, please ensure they do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors may be able to download and extract this data from the images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies exist for your convenience and will persist for one year.

If you access our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.

Upon login, additional cookies are stored to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last for two days, while screen preference cookies remain active for one year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends the login period to two weeks. Logging out will remove these cookies.

When editing or publishing an article, a cookie is stored in your browser containing the post ID. This cookie does not store personal information and expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Third-Party Sites

Articles on this website may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles) from third-party platforms. This content behaves as if you have directly visited the originating website. These platforms may collect your data, use cookies, and track your interactions—particularly if you are logged into their services.

Sharing of Your Data

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email as part of our verification process.

Data Retention

If you leave a comment, both the comment and its associated metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognise and approve follow-up comments without manual moderation.

For registered users (if applicable), we store the personal data provided in their user profiles. Users can view, edit, or delete their data at any time (except for usernames, which cannot be changed). Website administrators have access to manage user information as well.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have posted comments, you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase your personal data. This excludes any data we are legally required to retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be screened by automated spam detection services.
